Chris's Trophys

Tiffany & Chris (GobblerFreak)

The story about the pictures.

The first 3 pics are from my first buck/first bow kill. I had made a mock scrape and got deer hitting it, so I put my deer cam on the scrape and got a photo (maybe I'll get Marjie to post it sometime) of this buck in the scrape. I decided the next day I was going to stay in my stand all day, at about 12:30 or so I ratteld a little and about 5 or 10 minutes later this boy came in downwind, nose in the air, lookin for a fight I think. Well anyway I shoot left handed and he came behind me on my right so as I got my bow and turned I saw his rack and decided to go ahead and draw, as soon as I came to full draw he stopped and looked directly at me. OOPS! He was quatering to me at about 15 yards, ( before I go on I realize I should not have taken this shot) I knew it was now or never so I decided where his vitals were, put the pin directly in front of his shoulder and let her fly. He ran 40 yards and crashed, I took out a lung and his heart. I know LUCKY right! the original mount was done by a local taxidermist, however my mom and I made the backing board and did the foilage. thats the arrow and broadhead under the shelf. The 2 photos are the trail cam photo, and a pic of me and my dad when we got him. Talk about a proud dad, he had been trying to get me to hunt since I was 12 or so! Thats me and Tiffany, she's holding my rattling antlers. The next photos are from the buck i had been hunting all archery season in 2004, Unfortunatly I never got him, a truck did. My friend was running beans and called me to tell me there was a big buck laying out in the field. Talk about a downer! Anyway we cleaned him up, and took him to be scored as a pick-up. he scored 152 roughly as a 9 pointer, 148 5/8 offically after the deduction, he has great mass throughout. He was ranked number 6 in Indiana for pick-ups at the time of his scoring in 2004. I'm not sure where he places today. David and Marjie can attest to his size, Davids eyes were huge! The last pic is of me setting in front of the "Hoosier Hall of Fame" at our 2005 Deer and Turkey classic. I was invited to display him there. Hope ya'll enjoyed my story and my pics.
